What is Menatech?

Menatech is a leading news and media website that entertains it's visitors with the lastest digital information and trends in the Mena Region. The digital revolution lacked a representing voice in the region, and Menatech came to fulfil the void. The platform serves this loyal and tech savvy audience by reshaping storytelling.

The Context & Challenge

There are countless companies that serve the many content needs (and opportunities) presented by generations X and Y. Despite the fact that several brands already capitalized on this, no one had managed to provide such a platform for the MENA region. Until now.

It’s true that nowadays there’s a great variety of problems solved by technology. In the case of Menatech though, the challenge was to create the right platform for a very demanding audience, one that is not used to consume online content on a daily basis and prefers traditional hard paper based forms of communication.

The Solution

People of all ages and specifically residents from the Mena region were long looking for a native regional platform that directly caters to their information and entertainment needs. Well-organised and easily navigable, Menatech provides visitors with a variety of topics to choose from, all split into categories and beautifully designed subsections.

Bespoke brand strategy to inspire and connect

Menatech’s branding, from design to copywriting and everything in between, is designed to cater to various needs. This means that before delving into it, we wanted it to be generic enough so that we do not exclude anyone within the target demographic and psychographic.

The code along with the brackets represent the HTML visualization of their logo. These brackets open and close by encompassing Menatech in between. We created the logo that way in order to make users understand how Menatech opens the doors of the tech world for them and provides for all their digital content needs in one place.

Posts

There were several areas that required our care and attention. We wanted to make sure that Menatech’s post list, as well as individual posts, are above all anatomically correct. This is one of the most crucial elements to enable a pleasant journey for end users.

We came up with many different graphic visualizations for the posts. Other than eye-catching titles and background pictures, we included article excerpts in smaller text size while additional options were highlighted in both titles and text. We needed to see what works best.

Categories

Other than being visually pleasing and helping the visitors find their way through the website, a platform like Menatech has a direct need of categorization. If you have a lot of information relating to a particular niche, things can get hectic easily. We wanted to offer users a pleasurable journey on the website. That’s why we have split the content in 7 global categories, each one featuring a separate colour and icon.

Colours

Most of the platforms we develop have quite distinct characteristics followed by strong branding elements. Menatech is different in the fact that it’s a mixture of all things tech and digital. Even though the main colours of the platform are the same and featured in their logo and main sections, there was a need to include almost 5 more additional classes to emphasize content differentiation.

Icons

For the same reason we went for a greater variety than most of our projects’ colour palletes, the icons on Menatech serve a purpose. Classifying the content in different subcategories, Menatech’s icons improve readability, put the content in a nutshell and draw attention.

Sign up box

Much like traditional agendas and phonebooks, email lists are pretty much their modern equivalent. It’s the most important asset for a company that operates online. The sign up process is quite straightforward and is easily done in one setp by entering a username, an email address and a password.

Typography

In such a content rich website, content organisation is paramount. From our branding down to typography we made our utmost to emphasize this the best way possible. For Menatech, we used a simple yet effective text class by the name of Open Sans. Its variations were used in subsections and articles.
